Description:
A finely decorated ceramic pitcher produced by the renowned Zsolnay manufactory in Pécs, Hungary, known for its richly glazed art pottery of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The vessel features a graceful baluster form with a curved handle and pronounced pouring lip, decorated throughout with vibrant Ottoman-inspired floral motifs in cobalt blue, turquoise, rose, and green against a warm ivory ground.

Zsolnay became internationally celebrated for adapting historic decorative traditions—particularly Persian and Turkish ceramics—into distinctive European art pottery. The dense field of stylized blossoms and scrolling foliage reflects this cross-cultural aesthetic, while the deep cobalt rim and base provide a strong architectural frame for the composition. The underside retains the Zsolnay Pécs mark.

This piece functions beautifully as a sculptural object or decorative vessel and has a presence that reads well in both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Suggested Placement:
Striking on a mantel, console, or bookshelf where the colorful floral decoration can be appreciated at eye level. Also works beautifully styled with antique ceramics or layered into a maximalist vignette.

Condition Report:
Very good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Minor loss to the lip. Surface glaze and decoration remain vibrant and well preserved.

Location & Shipping:
This piece is located in our Saugerties showroom. Viewing and pickup are available by appointment. Eligible for complimentary shipping via FedEx or UPS in the continental United States.
