Dimensions:

Description:
An oversized contemporary console table crafted from a spalted maple slab salvaged from a historic shipyard along Rondout Creek in New York’s Hudson Valley. The richly figured maple top is finished in a deep, dark tone that brings out the dramatic spalting, grain movement, and natural edge character inherent to the reclaimed timber. The scale is expansive and deliberate, offering a strong architectural presence suited to larger interiors.
This variation is supported by custom dark bronze powder-coated steel legs in a balanced double U-shaped configuration. The symmetry of the base lends the table a more grounded, anchored stance, contrasting with the organic irregularity of the slab above. The pairing of salvaged wood and industrial steel results in a piece that feels both rooted in place and unmistakably contemporary.
A second console from the same build is available, forming a near pair. The tables share the same materials, finish, and scale, with slightly different base configurations. Together, they would work well in a commercial or hospitality setting such as a restaurant, gallery, retail space, or large entry sequence, where repetition with subtle variation is desirable.
Suggested Placement:
Ideal for grand entry halls, long corridors, or behind a sectional or floating sofa where additional depth is desired. Particularly well suited to modern, industrial, or minimal interiors that benefit from material contrast and strong horizontal emphasis.
Condition Report:
Excellent condition. The maple slab retains natural variations, edge irregularities, and character marks consistent with salvaged wood, all preserved as part of the design. Steel base is cleanly finished, stable, and structurally sound.
