Dimensions:
80″ H × 93″ W × 34.5″ D
Description:
A 17th century Dutch cabinet executed in richly toned sculpted oak and defined by its architectural clarity and quiet authority. The two-door façade is structured by pilasters with carved Corinthian capitals, framing geometric raised panels that introduce a measured, rhythmic ornamentation. A projecting cornice crowns the form, while the cabinet rests on substantial turned ball feet.
The craftsmanship reflects the enduring traditions of Northern European joinery, with hand-carved detail and a solid, time-tested construction. The interior, finished in a deep oxblood red, provides a striking counterpoint to the warm oak exterior and is fitted with shelving for practical use. The case can be disassembled, a rare and highly functional advantage for transport and installation.
The surface carries the depth and variation only centuries can produce—subtle tonal shifts, softened edges, and a patina that speaks to its age and authenticity.
Suggested Placement:
A commanding storage piece for a living room, study, or dining space; equally effective as a bar cabinet or anchoring element within a layered, collected interior.
Condition Report:
Excellent antique condition with age-appropriate wear. Surface shows consistent patina, minor marks, and tonal variation commensurate with age. Interior retains painted finish with visible wear. Structurally sound and presents beautifully.
