Sight: 21″ H × 20.5″ W

Description:

A striking color lithograph by Belgian artist Tony Van Goolen (1924–1985), depicting the sculptural bust of an ancient Roman woman crowned with a laurel wreath. Drawing upon the visual language of classical antiquity, the composition balances neoclassical restraint with a distinctly 20th-century sensibility. Signed lower right and numbered 16/275.

The work is presented in a substantial early 20th-century Heydenryk frame, an exceptional example of traditional fine-art framing that lends architectural presence and depth to the composition. The frame's historic character and generous proportions elevate the work into a compelling decorative statement, equally suited to classical and contemporary interiors.

Suggested Placement:

An elegant focal point above a console, writing desk, or fireplace mantel. Particularly effective in a sophisticated entry hall, library, or collected living room, where its classical subject and antique frame can provide a counterpoint to modern furnishings.

Condition Report:

Very good vintage condition. Signed and numbered lithograph presented in an early 20th-century Heydenryk frame with age-appropriate patina and surface wear. Frame and artwork should be assessed individually for any additional condition details.
