Dimensions:
54″ W × 80″ L
Description:
An early 20th century Turkish rug woven in a wool and silk blend, featuring a classic central medallion set within a richly detailed floral field. The palette is composed of rose, coral, warm ivory, deep brown, and soft black, framed by multiple guard borders and a wide botanical main border.
The silk highlights lend subtle luminosity to the ivory medallion and border elements, while the slightly thicker wool pile gives the rug a grounded, substantial presence underfoot. The drawing reflects Western Anatolian workshop traditions of the early 1900s, with balanced symmetry and refined floral articulation.
The scale makes it particularly versatile—large enough to anchor a small room, yet intimate enough for layered placements.
Suggested Placement:
Ideal for a library, guest bedroom, or layered over a larger natural fiber rug in a living room. Also well-suited for a study with dark wood furniture or beneath a writing desk.
Condition Report:
Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. Some fraying and repairs to the edges, minor pile variation consistent with use, and light surface wear throughout. Structurally sound and visually strong.
