Dimensions:
18″ H × 8 ¾″ W × 10″ D
Description:
A classic American Emeralite desk lamp from the first half of the 20th century, featuring a deep green to opaque white cased glass shade mounted on a single-arm brass support. The lamp retains its original applied plaque reading “EMERALITE DESK LAMP” and terminates in a square, architecturally modeled base with embossed ornamentation.
The proportions are refined and upright, with a strong vertical column and a well-weighted base that reflects early industrial design sensibilities. The richly patinated metal surface pairs beautifully with the saturated green glass shade, producing a warm, focused light ideal for writing, reading, or display. An enduring form that remains both practical and sculptural.
Suggested Placement:
Ideal for a library desk, writing table, or study, where its focused light and restrained profile bring quiet authority to the workspace.
Condition Report:
Very good vintage condition. Light, age-appropriate wear to the metal surfaces consistent with use. The lamp has been tested and is in working order. See photos for plug. Emeralite plaque on underside.
