A highly unusual early 20th century chaise lounge, circa 1920, executed in cognac leather with deep brown velvet cushions. The form reflects the emerging language of the Art Deco period—bold, geometric, and architecturally composed, with a low, grounded silhouette and clean, rectilinear lines.

A defining feature is its modular construction: the arms may be mounted upright or reclined, allowing the chaise to shift in both function and profile. Paneled leather cladding, accented with nailhead trim, emphasizes the structure, while the naturally aged leather surface has developed a rich, varied patina. The velvet cushions introduce softness and contrast, balancing the piece’s strong linearity.
