20th Century Dutch Baroque-Style Burr Walnut Bombé Chest of Drawers

Dimensions:

30.3″ H × 39.4″ W × 16.5″ D

Description:

A 20th-century Dutch Baroque-style chest of drawers crafted in richly figured burr walnut, with a dramatically shaped double-bombé case, three generous drawers, dark bronze-toned fittings, and carved claw feet. The compact depth and broad, architectural stance give the chest considerable presence without requiring an overly large footprint.

The beautifully figured walnut is arranged to emphasize the movement of the grain across the drawer fronts and shaped sides. A molded serpentine top, scalloped apron, sculptural corner profiles, and substantial claw feet reference the exuberant vocabulary of Dutch Baroque furniture while retaining the practicality of a later 20th-century piece.

Suggested Placement:

A strong choice for an entry hall, bedroom, library, or beneath a large mirror or work of art. Particularly effective as a warm, highly figured counterpoint within an otherwise restrained contemporary interior.

Condition Report:

Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear and patina. The walnut presents attractively, with the case and drawers appearing well maintained and ready for use.
