Dimensions:
46.75″ H × 58.25″ W × 18.75″ D

Description:
A substantial 19th century French provincial commode in oak with a subtly serpentine front, featuring three generously scaled drawers, shaped apron carving, and finely drawn cabriole feet. The drawer fronts are framed with restrained molded cartouches centered by oval escutcheons, lending the piece a quiet architectural rhythm rather than overt ornament.

Recently restored and refinished in a traditional linseed oil finish, which brings warmth and depth back to the oak. The scale makes this an especially practical decorative storage piece—equally comfortable in a bedroom, entry, or dining setting.

Suggested Placement:
Excellent as a bedroom commode beneath a large mirror or artwork, though the width also makes it compelling in an entry hall, dining room, or living space where substantial storage is welcome.

Condition Report:
Good restored antique condition with age-appropriate wear consistent with use. Recently refinished in linseed oil following an earlier stripped finish. Replacement brass hardware installed. Drawers open and close smoothly. Slight warping over time of the drawer fronts leaves a slight gap on the bottom drawer when closed. As is common with period pieces, the drawer fronts and cabriole legs are from an earlier piece of the same period.
