Description:
A set of four iron-framed dining chairs in the style of Cleo Baldon, distinguished by a sculptural X-base composed of intersecting iron arcs. The design draws on the ancient Roman curule seat, reinterpreted through a mid-century California lens—balancing classical restraint with a relaxed, architectural sensibility.
Each chair features a blackened steel frame with exposed wood dowel elements at the arms and back, paired with warm-toned leatherette upholstery. The interplay of materials—iron, wood, and leather—introduces a layered, tactile quality, while the gently worn surfaces lend depth and a sense of lived-in refinement. The silhouette is both structured and fluid, offering visual movement without excess.
Suggested Placement:
Well-suited to a round or pedestal dining table, or used as sculptural accent seating in a study, gallery-like interior, or covered outdoor setting.
Condition Report:
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Visible scuffs and scratches to the iron frames, along with wear and patina to the leatherette upholstery. Minor finish variation and surface wear to wood dowel elements. Structurally sound and comfortable.
