Dimensions:

Seat Height: 18.25″
Description:
A sculptural set of four Swedish pine dining chairs dating to the 1940s, defined by their restrained, architectural silhouette and warm, time-softened surface. Each chair features a gently curved backrest supported by twin vertical splats, rising from a solid plank seat with subtly faceted edges and resting on tapered, splayed legs.
Crafted in the spirit of Scandinavian functionalism with a distinctly rustic undertone, the chairs reflect the design language associated with Axel Einar Hjorth and Goran Malmvall—where utility meets a quiet, almost primitive refinement. The visible grain, knots, and tonal variation in the pine lend each piece an individual character while maintaining cohesion as a set.
Suggested Placement:
Ideal around a farmhouse or minimalist dining table, or used in pairs in a kitchen, studio, or project space where natural materials and sculptural form are prioritized.
Condition Report:
Good vintage condition with visible scratches, nicks, and surface wear consistent with age and use. Attractive patina throughout. Structurally sound and ready for daily use.
