Description:
Hand-painted Mexican folk art pottery tray from Tlaquepaque, dating to the 1930s–1940s. Executed on a warm terracotta-red slip ground, the tray features a stylized pastoral landscape with cactus forms, agave-like plants, and a solitary tree rendered in soft greens, blues, and cream tones. A rhythmic painted border frames the composition, lending the piece a distinctly regional character.

Produced during the golden era of Tlaquepaque tourist pottery, pieces such as this combined traditional ceramic techniques with whimsical interpretations of the Mexican landscape. The hand-drawn decoration, subtle irregularities, and painterly surface speak to its handmade origin and enduring folk-art appeal.

Suggested Placement:
Ideal as a catchall on a console, bedside table, or desk. Equally compelling displayed on a shelf or layered into a collection of Mexican ceramics and folk art objects.

Condition Report:
Very good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Minor surface scratches, glaze wear, and edge abrasions consistent with age and use. Presents beautifully with an attractive, authentic patina.
